Tata Nexon EV Empowered+ A 45 to Lead The Lineup With ADAS

The Empowered+ A 45 variant will headline the updated Tata Nexon EV range. Currently positioned above the Empowered 45 and Empowered Plus 45 trims, the new top-spec model will introduce ADAS features for the first time on Tata's subcompact electric SUV. A modest price increase is expected, though Tata is likely to keep the Nexon EV aggressively priced against its competitors.
This variant already packs a premium kit such as a JBL sound system with subwoofer, 360-degree camera with blind spot view, voice-assisted panoramic sunroof, ventilated leatherette seats, V2V and V2L charging, the Arcade.ev app suite, and a large 31.24 cm cinematic touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay amongst a long list of features.
What The Level-2 ADAS Adds

With the update, the Nexon EV will gain semi-autonomous driving capabilities, bringing it closer to larger, more premium SUVs in terms of technology. The suite includes features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, forward collision warning with autonomous emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, and high beam assist. Together, these upgrades aim to enhance highway safety, reduce driver fatigue, and deliver a more relaxed and confident driving experience.

Mechanically, the Nexon EV Empowered+ A 45 will continue with its 45 kWh battery pack, offering an ARAI-rated range of 489 km on a single charge. The electric motor produces 145 bhp and 215 Nm, enabling the SUV to sprint from 0-100 km/h in 8.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 150 km/h. Charging options are versatile, with a 60 kW DC fast charger replenishing the battery from 10-80% in just 40 minutes, a 7.2 kW AC charger taking around 6.5 hours for a full charge, and a 3.3 kW AC charger/15A plug requiring about 17.5 hours for 10-100%.
Verdict
With the addition of Level-2 ADAS, Tata Motors is once again pushing boundaries in the under Rs. 20 lakh EV SUV space. The Nexon EV, already loaded with segment-first features and backed by a lifetime battery warranty, is set to become even more attractive for tech-savvy and safety-conscious buyers. As rivals prepare their next wave of EVs, this update ensures the Nexon EV stays firmly ahead of the curve.
