This huge waiting period is because of the semi-conductor chips shortage on a global level and almost every carmaker is suffering because of it. Let's get to that list now!
Launched just a week ago, the City Hybrid already gets a waiting period of 6 months. Available in the top of the line variant, ZX, it gets all the bells and whistles. Powered by a 1.5L, Atkinson petrol motor along with an advanced Li-ion battery pack, the useable power on the City e:HEV sticks to 109 bhp with 253 Nm of peak torque. The ARAI certified mileage of the City e:HEV is rated at 26.5 kmpl. It is the most affordable hybrid sedan in the country. It is priced at Rs 19.50 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

Tata Tigor
The safest compact sedan in the segment, Tigor attracts a waiting period of four months or 120 days. In addition to this, it is the only sedan that is offered in petrol, CNG and even the EV version. The Tigor EV gets a waiting period of 3 months. This sedan rivals Hyundai Aura, Maruti Dzire and Honda Amaze. It is priced from Rs 5.83 lakh to Rs 8.15 lakh while the EV version is priced from Rs 12.25 lakh to Rs 13.39 lakh. All prices stick to ex-showroom, Delhi.
One of the most powerful budgeted sedans in the country under Rs 20 lakh, Slavia has a waiting period of whopping 4 months. Yes, 120 days for this performance sedan. Offered in two engine options - 1.0L TSI and 1.5L TSI, it is the latter that produces 148 bhp of power on tap with a peak torque of 250 Nm and adds to the fun to drive factor. Skoda Slavia is priced from Rs 10.69 lakh to Rs 17.79 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
One of the most feature-rich compact sedans, Aura gets a waiting period of 90 days for the petrol and diesel versions while its CNG variant attracts 180 days waiting. It is available with 1.2L non-turbo petrol, 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.2L turbocharged diesel engine. The CNG is paired to the 1.2L petrol motor. This sedan is priced from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 9.42 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
Maruti Dzire
Maruti Dzire is priced from Rs 6.24 lakh to Rs 9.18 lakh and is a popular choice in the Indian market. Currently, this sedan has a waiting period of three months for the 1.2L DualJet petrol motor while the CNG version attracts 6 months wait.
