Upcoming Car Launches In August 2026: Mahindra, Skoda And MG All Set To Launch

July kept us on our toes with the Brezza facelift, the new Hilux, Tekton and ZR-V all landing in the same month. Just when you thought things would slow down, August has its own surprises lined up. Mahindra alone is bringing three SUVs to the table on Independence Day, which is honestly a lot to unpack in one day. Skoda joins in three days later with the Slavia facelift, and MG is expected to sneak in a new EV and PHEV sometime this month too. No fixed date on that one yet, but it's coming. Let's get into what each of these cars brings to the table.

Mahindra Scorpio N Facelift

Mahindra is gearing up to launch the facelifted Scorpio N, the first major update for the SUV since it launched back in 2022. Test mules of the car have already been spied testing, and going by those images, the changes seem to be concentrated on the inside. Spy shots show a redesigned centre console with the AC vents moved around, a tablet-style touchscreen mounted up top, and a new digital driver's display that looks a lot like the one on the Thar Roxx. On the outside, the changes are expected to be limited to a new set of two-tone alloy wheels, so this looks like a cabin-focused update rather than a full-on redesign.

Under the hood things are expected to stay the same with 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines with manual and automatic gearbox options. Moreover, the Scorpio N facelift is set to launch on August 15, 2026, and given the added features, prices should move up slightly from the current Rs 13.49 lakh to Rs 24.95 lakh range.

Mahindra BE 6 (Updated)

Another car from Mahindra's Independence Day line-up is the updated BE 6, marking the first update for the electric SUV since its launch in November 2024. Mahindra is expected to give the BE 6 a triple-screen dashboard layout, the same one seen on the XEV 9e, XEV 9S and XUV 7XO. The halo design that currently separates the driver and front passenger is likely to be dropped, changing the whole feel of the cabin. A new black-and-tan upholstery option is also expected to be offered. The updated BE 6 should launch alongside the Scorpio N on August 15, 2026, with prices likely to see a slight bump from the current Rs 18.90 lakh to Rs 26.90 lakh range.

Skoda Slavia Facelift

Skoda is preparing to roll out the Slavia facelift, the first update for the sedan since its launch in February 2022. It will be the second update for the sedan since it debuted in India, and it's shaping up to be a fairly comprehensive one. Design wise, expect a new front grille with integrated LED elements, along with reworked headlights, taillights and bumpers. New alloy wheels round off the exterior refresh. On the mechanical front, the 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI units are expected to continue, with the smaller engine likely gaining the 8-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox already seen on the Kushaq facelift.

Moreover, features are likely to include a bigger digital driver's display, updated upholstery, and a rear seat massage function borrowed from the Kushaq facelift. The safety kit should stay largely on par with the outgoing model, with front parking sensors added as a small but useful upgrade. Skoda is expected to launch the Slavia facelift sometime between August 17 and 19, 2026.

Mahindra Vision S

Mahindra is also planning to use August 15 for a near-production reveal of the Vision S, though this one's a preview and not a launch just yet. Prototypes of the SUV have been spied testing for a while now, and going by these test mules, the production version looks set to retain the boxy, upright styling of the original Vision S concept. The actual on-sale version is still around a year away, so this is really just a first proper look at the design.

The Vision S rides on Mahindra's Nu_IQ platform, which is built to support petrol, diesel, hybrid and fully electric powertrains, though which of these Mahindra picks for the production model is still unknown. No launch date or pricing for the Vision S yet, since the production-ready version isn't expected before 2027.

MG Eksion EV And PHEV

JSW MG is lining up a new SUV based on the Wuling Eksion, already sold in China, in both fully electric and plug-in hybrid forms. This will be the brand's first product on its new ADAPT platform. Test mules haven't given away too many surprises since the design closely follows the China-spec Eksion, so expect minimal changes for the India version.

The two versions run completely different setups. The EV gets a 69kWh battery paired with a single motor making 201hp and 310Nm, good for a claimed range of around 600km. The PHEV combines a 1.5-litre Atkinson-cycle petrol engine with an electric motor and a 20.5kWh battery.

No confirmed launch date yet for the MG Eksion EV and PHEV, though it's expected sometime this August. Pricing hasn't been revealed either, but the EV is likely to rival the Mahindra XEV 9S while the PHEV takes aim at diesel-automatic variants of the XUV 7XO and Tata Safari.
