Mahindra Alturas G4 (massive discounts)
Well, I know comparing a 7-seater SUV with a 5-seater one isn't an ideal choice but here Mahindra is providing a cash discount of Rs 3.05 lakh on the Alturas G4. Yes, this huge discount lured us into comparing both these models.

The advantage of owning Mahindra Alturas G4 is not just the good looks and bigger road presence but extra practicality, more inside space, features and the pricing of the SUV which gives more features in less. The Alturas is powered by a 2.2L turbo-diesel which makes 178 bhp with 420 Nm of peak torque. It is available in both 2WD and 4WD versions.
Jeep Compass

Believe it or not, this American mid-size SUV surely worked like a charm when it was first launched. Sure, the diesel automatic was first missed and the lack of features but still, it pulled its magic like anybody else. With the competition rising, the sales dropped and the Compass just took off in the south.

Still, when it comes to worthy and value for money SUVs, Jeep Compass is a much better alternative than the Hyundai Tucson. Firstly because of the pricing then the availability of a 4x4 set up and thirdly if you are looking for its hardcore version then the Trailhawk always comes to the rescue.
For diesel, you get a 2.0L motor which makes 170 bhp with 350 Nm of peak torque. The transmission is mated to a 6-speed manual and an optional 9-speed AT gearbox. The 1.4L petrol continues to be powered by a 1.4L turbo petrol which is mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
Skoda Karoq

Call it a worthy competition but yes when compared with the prices then this German SUV is a good rival. Skoda Karoq is a CBU and comes in a single variant only. It offers a 1.5L petrol on the go which makes 150 PS of power. Transmission is mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox and Skoda offers the SUV with a plethora of features.

Tata Harrier

Yes, we are very well aware of our senses by pitching in Harrier with the Tucson. Apart from the price difference, the engine, features, dimensions, all are powerful. Tata Harrier is an SUV of its class and rivals the strong competition like Tucson but in a budget.
Tata Harrier comes only in a 2.0L FCA sourced diesel unit with 170 bhp on tap and 350 Nm of peak torque. The transmission includes a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed optional AT. Tata brought in an updated Harrier with features like wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, new alloy wheels, 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat, 8.8-inch touchscreen, cruise control and more.
