2022 Tata Nexon EV With More Driving Range Launching On May 11 - Details

Tata Motors is all set to launch the long-range version of the Nexon EV in the markets soon. We believe that the claimed driving range of the 2022 Tata Nexon EV will be a little more than 400 km. The current version only gets a claimed range of just 312 km.

The existing Nexon EV packs in a 30.2 kWh battery pack that takes around 8.5 hours to fully charge the eSUV. It generates 127 bhp of power on tap with a peak torque of 245 Nm. We believe that the upcoming Nexon EV will use a 40kWh battery pack and because of this larger battery pack, the boot space of the Nexon EV will be compromised by a certain margin.

As per styling, it will remain the same except for some addition to the colour palette. With the updated Nexon EV, we also believe that it will get all-wheel disc brakes and electronic stability control too. Other safety features like dual airbags at the front, ABS with EBD, high-speed alert system, front seat belt reminder, and hill hold control will remain the same.

Feature-wise too, the long-range Nexon EV will remain unchanged. It will get a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, push-button start/stop, rear AC vents, cooled glove box and others.

We do expect the carmaker to provide a bigger 6.6 kW AC charger as an option as it will reduce the charging time by quite some margin. The current model gets a 3.3kW AC charger and it takes 8.5 hours to fully charge according to the company.

As per prices are concerned then the updated Nexon EV will command a premium of up to 3 lakh over the current version. That said, it'll also target the buyers going for the MG ZS EV.
