It all started with a follower asking the price for the upcoming Tata Nexon facelift on the Instagram post of 2023 Nexon. And while that was a regular question, the answer to that was not what we have seen in the past.

The reply from the official handle gave it away( or we thought it did) while quoting a starting price of Rs. 7.39 lakhs. Since the launch date was already set for 14th September, and the official handle revealed it beforehand, the users were quick to notice and it spread like wildfire.

One interesting thing that came up was a lower starting price than the outgoing model. There was a significant possibility that the information leaked via the Tata Nexon Instagram handle may contain an error. If it turns out to be accurate, Tata is not only challenging the conventional trend of increasing prices with each update but is also reducing the base price by Rs. 61,000 (ex-showroom). To make sense of it, it was the introduction of a 5-speed manual gearbox that put together the pieces and everything seemed to justify the lower price bracket. Until.....

Tata Motors Officially Rubbishes The Claim

After the talk of the town was a lowered starting point, a lot of speculations doing rounds on the internet( as usual), but to clear the air, comes an official statement from the brand itself.

The official statement reads- 'The pricing of the new Nexon and new Nexon.ev will be announced on 14th September 2023. Any related information that you may see prior to or being reported in media is misleading and factually incorrect. The new Nexon is a major upgrade in design, innovation, technology, safety, comfort, and performance.

The Instagram reply has since been deleted and going by the statement, it looks like there has been a mistake with the figures indicated. However, while it is now clear that the price quoted is not the official price, 14th September isn't very far either.
