BREAKING: Toyota Rumion MPV Breaks Cover For Indian Market

Toyota India has introduced a fresh offering, the Rumion MPV, catering to the Indian market. Serving as Toyota's third rebadged model, the Rumion draws its foundation from the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. While the Rumion is now featured on the brand's official website, its pricing remains undisclosed. The Rumion in India will be available in three variants namely S, G & V. Notably, this recently revealed MPV showcases distinct exterior modifications that set it apart from the Ertiga.

Toyota Rumion Exterior

In terms of design, the Rumion showcases a refreshed front fascia highlighted by a novel grille design. Drawing inspiration from the Innova Crysta, the Rumion's grille is adorned with chrome accents. Furthermore, the front bumper has undergone a redesign, incorporating chrome details around the air dams. Subtle adjustments have also been made to the fog lamp housing. Collectively, these design modifications distinguish the Rumion from the Ertiga.

Moving to the sides, the MPV is adorned with 15-inch Swirl type alloy wheels, complementing its profile aesthetically. Meanwhile, the rear aspect shares similarities with the Eriga. As for the color palette, the Rumion presents a choice of five hues: Spunky Blue, Rustic Brown, Cafe White, Iconic Grey, and Enticing Silver.

Inside the MPV, a beige interior greets you, featuring a dashboard layout reminiscent of the Ertiga. The interior design is further enhanced with details like a Metallic Teak Wood Finish Dashboard and Metallic Teak Wood Finish Door Trim at the front. Notable comfort features include a Height Adjustable Driver Seat, 2nd Row 60:40 Split Seats with One Touch Recline & Slide, and a 3rd Row 50:50 Split with Recline Function. The interior is versatile, offering Flexible Luggage Space with Flat Fold capability for the 3rd Row. The aesthetics are elevated with Premium Dual Tone Interiors and Plush Dual Tone Seat Fabric, among other notable elements.

The interior boasts a range of features, encompassing a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, along with automatic climate control, an analogue instrument cluster featuring a Multi-Information Display (MID), conveniently placed steering-mounted controls, a sound system comprising 4 speakers and 2 tweeters, as well as the inclusion of power windows for all four sides.

In terms of safety, the vehicle is equipped with essential systems including ABS with EBD, a comprehensive airbag system consisting of 4 airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), hill hold assist, and ISOFIX child seat mounts, among other safety measures.

Toyota Rumion Engine Specifications

The Rumion is equipped with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine generating 101 bhp of power and 136.8 Nm of peak torque. This engine is coupled with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. With the manual gearbox, it offers a claimed mileage of 20.51 km/l, while the automatic gearbox variant provides 20.11 km/l.

Additionally, the Rumion offers a 1.5-liter CNG engine option, delivering 86 bhp of power when running on CNG mode and a peak torque of 121.5 Nm. This engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and achieves a mileage of 26.11 km/kg.
