Entry Level Hatchbacks

• Alto: 15489 units
• S-Presso: 8934 units
• Kwid: 5539 units

As always, this segment saw the Maruti Alto 800 and the K10 sell 15489 units, claiming the top spot in the list. Coming next in the list is the Maruti S-Presso, with 8934 units being sold in December month alone. The new Renault Kwid comes third, selling 5539 units in the month of December.

Compact Hatchbacks

• Swift: 14470 units
• Wagon R: 10781 units
• Grand i10: 7598 units

This list has seen the reigning champion take the first spot again, the Maruti Suzuki Swift. The car sold 14479 units in the month of December alone and is showing no signs of downfall anytime soon. Coming second is the Maruti WagonR, with 10781 units being sold in December 2019. The Hyundai i10 Grand comes third, selling 7598 units in December 2019

Premium Hatchbacks

• Baleno: 18464 units
• i20: 7740 units
• Polo: 2210 units

Topping the premium hatchback segment is the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, with 18464 units being sold in the December month alone, a growth of 66% compared to the sales figures of December 2018. Then comes the Hyundai i20, with 7740 units being sold. The third spot on the list is occupied by the Volkswagen Polo, with a sales figure of 2210 units.

Compact Sedans

• Dzire: 15286 units
• Amaze: 5077 units
• Tigor: 1487 units

This segment has been constantly dominated by one car since its launch in 2008, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, claiming the top spot at 15286 units in the month of December 2019. next comes the Honda Amaze, with 5077 units sold. The third spot in the list is taken by the Tata Tigor, with December 2019 sales coming up to 1487 units.

Executive Sedan

• Rapid: 1359 units
• Verna: 1295 units

• Triber: 5631 units

Topping the charts this December in terms of MUV sales is the Maruti Ertiga, with 6650 units sold in December 2019 alone, whereas coming close in second is the Mahindra Bolero. The new entrant to this segment, the Renault Triber managed to sell 5631 units, sealing the third spot on the list.

Compact SUV

• Brezza: 13658 units
• Venue: 9521 units
• Nexon: 4350 units

The compact SUV segment saw a rise in terms of sales this December. Coming first in this segment is the Maruti Vitara Brezza, with strong sales of 13658 units sold. second on this list is the new entrant, the Hyundai Venue, with a whopping 9521 units being sold in December month alone. Third on this list is the Tata Nexon, with 4350 units being sold.

Mid-SUV

• Creta: 6713 units
• Seltos: 4645 units
• Scorpio: 3656 units

The Mid SUV segment also saw a rise in terms of sales in December, with the Hyundai Creta topping this list with 6713 units being sold. The New entrant to the segment, Kia Seltos, comes second with 4645 units sold in the month of December. The third spot on the list is occupied by the Mahindra Scorpio, selling 3656 units in the month of December. Special mentions for the MG Hector and the Tata Harrier, which sold a respectable 3021 and 1458 units respectively, in the month of December 2019.

Premium SUV Segment

• Fortuner: 612 units
• Tiguan: 324 units
• Endeavour: 261 units

This Segment has been dominated by the Toyota Fortuner, with a sales figure of 612 units in the month of December. The second spot is captured by the Volkswagen Tiguan, with 324 units being sold. The third spot on this list is the Ford Endeavour, with 261 units being sold in December 2019
