Force Gurkha 5 Door Spied Testing; New Interior Details

Force Gurkha 5 door is gearing up for its debut in the Indian market to challenge the upcoming Mahindra Thar 5 door and the same has been spied testing. Even better, the glimpses of the interior hint at some big changes coming your way. In one of the shots, a bigger infotainment screen with Android Auto/ Apple CarPlay can be seen that replaces the older and smaller unit. You also get a rotary drive mode selector, which is a subtle but major addition inside the cabin.

However, the biggest update is the 2 extra doors and the third row that gets dedicated captain seats. While major chunks will be carried over from the 3 door version, the front and rear bumpers are expected to be molded slightly differently. As evident from the official teaser, one noticeable detail is the consistent circular headlamp styling, which had previously been speculated to be rectangular based on spy shots.

Additionally, it appears to be equipped with 16-inch alloys sporting a 245/70 R16 profile. The spy shots also reveal add-ons such as a roof rack, and rear ladder, which are likely to be available as accessories. In terms of features, it'll boast a larger screen and a new digital instrument cluster with TPMS. Connectivity includes Bluetooth, USB ports, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. HVAC controls, a 12V socket, and central locking will continue to add practicality to the cabin.

Powertrain Options

The upcoming Force Gurkha 5-door is expected to share the same robust 2.6-liter diesel engine as its 3-door sibling. While official power figures remain under wraps, the 3-door Gurkha produces 91hp and 250Nm of torque. Rumors suggest the 5-door variant might benefit from a retuned engine for potentially higher output.

The Gurkha launch is anticipated in the coming weeks, with a slight price hike. The 3-door variant was last priced at Rs. 15.10 lakh, but expect a new, slightly higher price tag. It is estimated to carry a premium of Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 1.5 lakh compared to the 3-door model.
