Honda CR-V Special Edition Priced At Rs 29.50 Lakh; Limited To 45 Units

Honda will soon bring s Special Edition of the CR-V and it is expected to be priced at Rs 29.50 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. Honda will bring in some cosmetic as well as feature updates with this special edition of the CR-V and hence it will be priced higher than the current model.

Sharing details on this special edition then sources reveal that the styling will be based on the international version of the CR-V. That means tweaked grille, redesigned front and rear bumper and the SUV will replace the chrome with dark material.

Since Honda CR-V rivals with the popular MG Gloster and Ford Endeavour, the soft SUV will now come with added features. These include hands-free tailgate, electrically adjustable front seat, auto fold wing mirrors, running boards and illuminated door scuff plates. This current-generation CR-V already comes with LED headlights but this upcoming one will feature active cornering as an added benefit.

With the steep competition from other SUVs like Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Mahindra Alturas G4 and MG Gloster, Honda has decided to keep to limited numbers only. Some reveal only 45 of these units will be available in the Indian market.

That's a wise decision by Honda as the sales of the CR-V isn't going that good. The reason being is the non-availability of a diesel engine in this segment. Earlier, a diesel engine with front-wheel drive and an AWD was available for the CR-V but that was soon discontinued because of the BS6 transformation.

Like the previous models, this special edition too will come with a 2.0-litre, naturally aspirated petrol unit which makes 152 bhp and 189 Nm of peak torque. It gets a CVT gearbox and comes as a 5-seater option only.
