Hyundai has launched the Bayon at Rs. 9.99 lakh, ex-showroom. The most talkative point of this car is that it sits between Creta and Venue. But with the launch of Bayon, the real question has arisen: should somebody buy a Bayon over Venue? Let’s understand everything around this and decode this.
Hyundai Bayon Vs Venue: Engine
The Bayon comes with a single engine option of 1.5-litre NA petrol, and other 1.5-litre NA petrol plus CNG will be launched in January 2027. There are not many options with Bayon; however, the venue gives you a platter with NA petrol, diesel and turbo petrol. Even with every engine on offer in the venue, it has different types of gearbox.
Hyundai Bayon | Hyundai Venue | |
Number of engines | One | Three |
Petrol | 1.5-litre NA Petrol | 1.2-litre NA Petrol |
Diesel | None | 1.5-litre Diesel |
Turbo option | No | 1.0-litre Turbo-petrol |
Power | 115 PS | 83 PS/ 116 PS/ 120 PS |
Torque | 144 Nm | 114 Nm/ 250 Nm/ 172 Nm |
Gearbox mentioned | 6-speed MT/CVT | 5&6-speed MT, 6-speed AT, 7-speed DCT |
CNG | Factory-fitted version due January 2027 | Not mentioned |
At the price of a Bayon base model, one can buy two engine options, such as NA petrol and turbo petrol, from Venue. There are 3 trim options (HX2, 4, and 5) of NA petrol and 2 trim options (HX2 turbo and HX4 turbo) of turbo petrol.
Hyundai Bayon vs. Venue: Design & Dimension
The design of Bayon is fresh and feels more premium with the kind of size it has. It is the first product from Hyundai India that is built on the "art of steel." It is the new design language, and it doesn't resemble any of their existing lineups. So it isn't just a brand-new car but marks the beginning of a new era of design in Hyundai's portfolio. Venue, on the other hand, got a gen upgrade in 2025. The design of the Venue doesn't have an outdated design either.
The major difference between these two lies in numbers; here are those:
Specification | Bayon | Venue | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
Length | 4,245 mm | 3,995 mm | +250 mm |
Width | 1,810 mm | 1,800 mm | +10 mm |
Height | 1,605 mm | 1,665 mm | −60 mm |
Wheelbase | 2,600 mm | 2,520 mm | +80 mm |
Ground clearance | 205 mm | 190 mm | +15 mm |
Boot | 505 litres | 375 litres | +130 litres |
The Bayon is clearly much bigger in dimensions. However, for this much space, buyers have to pay a premium of 2 lakh to enjoy the airy cabin and bigger SUV feel. The Bayon is a bigger car, well suited for families. It has more ground clearance, which allows buyers to move it around where the venue can't be taken. Also, Bayon has more capacity to accommodate more luggage in the boot with a bigger boot.
Hyundai Bayon vs Venue: Features
Both cars are loaded for their price, so this is less about "who has more" and more about who gets what. The Bayon's headline features are dual 12.3-inch screens, a panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, six airbags and an 8-speaker Bose system. The Venue's top HX10 trim answers with a similar kit: dual 12.3-inch curved displays, Level 2 ADAS with 16 features, Bose audio, ventilated front seats and a 360-degree camera.
Several of these features are limited to higher trims on both cars. On the Venue, the 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitor and ADAS are exclusive to the top HX10.
Feature | Hyundai Bayon | Hyundai Venue |
|---|---|---|
Infotainment | Dual 12.3-inch screens | Dual 12.3-inch curved screens |
Wireless Android Auto / Apple CarPlay | Yes | Yes |
Sound system | 8-speaker Bose | 8-speaker Bose |
Sunroof | Panoramic | Single-pane, voice-enabled |
ADAS | Level 2 | Level 2 |
Airbags | 6 | 6 |
Ventilated front seats | Yes | Yes |
Powered driver's seat | Yes | Yes |
Wireless charging | Yes | Yes |
360-degree camera | Yes | Yes |
Boot space | 505 litres | 375 litres |
On equipment the two are close. The Bayon gives you a bigger sunroof and a much bigger boot. The Venue gives you a confirmed 360-degree camera and a proven 5-star crash rating, plus a feature list that starts at a far lower price.
Hyundai Bayon vs Venue: Price Comparison
The Bayon starts at Rs 9.99 lakh, while the Venue starts at Rs 7.99 lakh. That is about Rs 2 lakh more for the Bayon at the entry point, and the gap widens in the middle of the range. The Venue’s diesel runs from Rs 9.94 lakh (HX2 MT) up to Rs 15.82 lakh (top HX10 AT).
Model | Hyundai Bayon | Hyundai Venue |
|---|---|---|
Price (Petrol) | Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 18.15 lakh | Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 14.99 lakh |
Price (Diesel) | Not offered | Rs 9.94 lakh to Rs 15.82 lakh |
At the entry level, the Bayon’s premium is roughly Rs 2 lakh. In the mid-range trims most buyers actually pick, it grows to over Rs 3 lakh. The gap narrows at the top because the Venue’s fully loaded trims also get expensive.
Hyundai Bayon Vs Hyundai Venue: Final Take
Bayon should be the first pick when you have space as your priority. With a longer wheelbase it has more cabin space, bigger boot on offer and more ground clearance to go anywhere. It also gives a bigger SUV feel and panoramic sunroof. It offers a 1.5-litre NA petrol with a CVT that works well if you want a relaxed easy driving. If CNG matters to you, then waiting 2 months would be worth it in the long run.
Buy Venue if the budget is under 10 lakh and want a variant with some features on board. The HX5 and HX5+ trim offer strong value. It also offered different engines from NA petrol, diesel to turbo petrol with multiple transmission options on offer.
Bayon is a better car in terms of space, road presence and features however one has to pay for that. But if somebody want flexibility with engine and transmission then Venue should be the pick.
