The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is one of the latest EVs to enter the electric mobility space and is expected to be introduced in the Indian market soon. The Ioniq 5 promises to be a practical offering and will boast a long list of capabilities and a long range to suit the Indian buyers' needs. Having said this, the car was recently spotted in the Indian market. While it is believed that the car was being transported to Nepal, we can not rule out the possibility of a future launch in India. Here are all the details that we know about the Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric SUV.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is currently on sale in Nepal and is brought into the country via the CBU route. Since Nepal does not have direct access to the seaports, the cars are usually transported into the country via that land route. The Ioniq 5 made its global debut in February 2021 and was the first Hyundai car to be based on the Electric Global modular Platform (E-GMP). While the brand recently revealed a facelift model of this electric SUV in the European market, we in India are yet to welcome this car. The recent facelift, in addition to some cosmetic updates, also offered an updated and improved powertrain.

In the Indian market, Hyundai is expected to offer the Ioniq 5 with a new and larger 77.4kWH battery pack that will help the SUV boast a range of over 500 km on a single charge. Earlier, the Ioniq 5 was offered with a smaller 72.6kWh battery pack. In the global markets, the Ioniq is available with a single motor and a dual-motor setup that churns out 169 hp and 306 hp respectively. It is still unknown which of the powertrain options will Hyundai bring to India. The car is expected to be brought into the nation via the CBU (completely built unit) route.
