As of January this year, the Hyundai Verna is currently being offered with substantial discounts, reaching up to Rs. 55,000. For the Model Year 2023 (MY23) units, a generous cash discount of Rs. 55,000 is applicable. On the other hand, the Model Year 2024 (MY24) units are eligible for a cash discount of Rs. 10,000 along with an additional exchange bonus of Rs. 15,000.

Powertrain

The Verna provides customers with the option of selecting between a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine and a recently introduced 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine, delivering 113bhp and 158bhp, respectively. The torque figures stand at 144Nm and 253Nm. The transmission choices encompass a six-speed manual, CVT, and a seven-speed DCT. It's worth mentioning that the diesel variant is no longer part of the available options.

In a recent crash test conducted by Global NCAP in October, the Hyundai Verna achieved a commendable five-star rating. The vehicle demonstrated impressive performance, earning scores of 28.18 out of 34 points for adult occupant protection and 42 out of 49 points for child occupant protection. However, it is important to highlight that the car's body shell was identified as unstable, indicating a limitation in its ability to withstand additional stress.

While the Hyundai Verna now gets 6 airbags as standard right from the base variant, it faces stiff competition from counterparts such as the Volkswagen Virtus, Honda City, and the Skoda Slavia in the automotive market.
