Is The Big Daddy 2021 Skoda Kodiaq Launching Soon In India? All Details

Skoda is on a roll for the year 2021 as first, they brought in the Octavia and then the most awaited mid-size SUV, Kushaq. Further reports now suggest that Skoda might bring in the 2021 version of their flagship SUV, Kodiaq in India later this year. We believe that the soft off-roader will be available in the top of the line single variant, Laurin and Klement.

Sharing the mechanical details first, the Kodiaq will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged stratified injection. This is the same unit as seen on the Superb. It generates as much as 190 PS of power with a peak torque of 320 Nm. This engine will be mated to a 7-speed DSG unit. The updated Kodiaq will be offered with a standard 4x4 setup. However, it will still be a soft off-roader and not compete with the giants like Toyota Fortuner or Ford Endeavour. Its closest competition will be Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace.

As far as the design elements go then the updated Kodiaq has improved a lot from its prelift model. You now get full-LED matrix headlights, an updated grille that looks ravishing and an updated front bumper. The placement of fog lights is below the headlights just as before. The RS model which is sold globally brings in an aggressive front design with a tweaked bumper but we won't get that in India.

Moving to the side profile, larger 20-inch wheels can be expected along with the roof rails and then the rear-ending with SKODA letting. The chrome elements are kept in a subtle way and it can be seen on the front profile as well as the window line from the side profile.

The cabin gets an all-new dashboard layout that brings out premiumness yet sportiness for which the Kodiaq is known. Furthermore, you have a larger touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The fully digital instrument cluster makes the Kodiaq driver-friendly. You also get front ventilated seats, a two-spoke steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, an updated Canton music system and others.
