Kia Carens Clavis EV Coming In July; Things To Expect

The Carens Clavis EV is likely going to bear a familiar design to its combustion-engined sibling, but there will be EV-specific bits to highlight its electric internals. One key highlight is going to be charging flap, which could likely be positioned on the nose, given what we have seen on the test mules. The profile and the rear are likely to be identical to the combustion-engined Carens Clavis, but the alloy rims will be inspired by the ones on the Syros.

Underneath, we can expect some familiarity as well, with the platform likely to be shared with the Hyundai Creta EV, whch itself is built on a heavily re-engineered combustion platform. The same 42kWh and 51.4kWh battery packs are likely to make their way here, with claimed range figures of 390km and 473km on a single charge respectively. The Carens Clavis EV will also feature an identical front-wheel drive setup, producing 133bhp or 168bhp, depending on the variant.
In terms of features, the Carens Clavis EV is likely going to come with Level 2 ADAS, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, dual-zone climate control, a cooled glovebox, over 268 voice commands, voice-enabled panoramic sunroof, vehicle-to-load, and a lot more.

With the Carens Clavis EV confirmed to arrive in July, we can expect teasers to be rolled out soon enough, with a first look shortly before the price reveal. The car will have no direct rivals once launched, but it will likely be among the same price bracket as many five-seater EVs, such as its own cousin, the Creta EV, along with the Tata Curvv EV and the MG Windsor EV Pro, to name a few.
