KIA India has launched the GT-Line and X-Line trims for its electric MPV, the Carens Clavis EV. The new MY26 KIA Carens Clavis EV is now available in a 6-seater configuration, starting at a price of Rs 19.99 lakh (Ex-showroom). Read the details of the newly launched trims below. MY26 KIA Carens Clavis EV

The newly launched GT-Line & X-Line variants are available with the extended range battery pack option only, and the pricing of these variants starts at Rs 22.99 lakh (Ex-showroom). The GT-Line is available with two trims, and the X-Line is available in a single trim.

In addition to the GTX and X-Line versions, the brand has introduced a 6-seater option for lower trims. The MY26 Carens Clavis EV now features second-row captain chairs in select trims, including HTX (E), HTX, HTX+, GTX, GTX+, and X-Line. Some of these variants are also available with the smaller 42 kWh battery pack.

The GT-Line trims offer a sportier character to the MPV, featuring a new alloy wheel design, lime brake calipers, and metal pedals. The X-Line offers a darker and more rugged stance, in line with other X-Line models from the brand. It is available in Dark Gun Metal exterior colour along with Aurora Black Pearl. On the features front, it offers Digital Key and battery-heater technology on the GTX+ and X-Line variants. The Standard Range trims are also equipped with newly designed 16-inch black high-gloss aero alloy wheels.
KIA Carens Clavis EV - Battery Pack Options
The Carens Clavis EV is available with two battery pack options: a smaller 42 kWh battery and a larger 51.4 kWh battery. The 42 kWh battery delivers 132 bhp of power, while the 51.4 kWh battery produces 169 bhp. Both battery packs provide similar torque output at 255 Nm. The extended range (ER) version boasts a claimed range of 490 km, whereas the 42 kWh version offers a range of 404 km. Additionally, the fast charging feature allows charging from 10% to 80% in just 39 minutes.
Verdict
The Kia Carens Clavis EV is one of the most affordable electric MPVs in the Indian market. Powered by an NMC battery pack, this EV performs well and offers a good range. Compared to some of its 7-seater rivals, it provides better cabin space, making it a good option for those looking to buy a comfortable family EV. With the newly introduced 6-seater version, it offers added comfort for buyers seeking a more premium seating configuration.
