VinFast is doubling down on its electric mobility push by extending its free EV charging program until March 31, 2029. The move applies to key markets including India, Indonesia, and the Philippines, making it one of the most aggressive ownership incentives currently available in the EV space. VinFast Free Charging Extended: What It Means For Buyers

Under this extended initiative, both existing and new VinFast customers will continue to benefit from zero-cost charging at designated stations operated by V-Green, the company's charging arm. The offer is not limited to private owners; it also covers commercial users and ride-hailing drivers, including those operating on VinFast's Green SM electric taxi platform. This move significantly reduces the total cost of ownership, which remains one of the biggest barriers to EV adoption. By offering long-term savings on charging, VinFast is clearly targeting customers who are still hesitant to transition from traditional fuel-powered vehicles.

Alongside the charging extension, VinFast's parent company, Vingroup, has introduced a limited-period campaign encouraging buyers to switch from petrol or diesel vehicles. Running between March 11 and March 31, 2026, the program offers additional discounts of up to 3% on electric cars and 5% on electric scooters when customers exchange their conventional vehicles. These benefits can be combined with other ongoing offers, making the transition to electric mobility even more financially attractive.

VinFast EV Lineup Highlights
VinFast's growing EV portfolio currently offers two electric cars. The VF7, one of the brand's key offerings, comes with a 75.6 kWh battery pack and is available in two configurations. The standard version produces 204 PS and 310 Nm with a front-wheel-drive setup, while the higher-spec variant delivers 354 PS and 500 Nm through a dual-motor AWD system. The claimed driving range stands at up to 450 km. For buyers looking at a more compact alternative, the VF6 offers a 59.6 kWh battery with a claimed range of around 399 km. It produces 201 bhp and 309 Nm, and focuses on delivering a balanced mix of performance and practicality.
Verdict
VinFast's decision to extend free charging until 2029 is a bold and powerful move that directly addresses one of the biggest concerns for EV buyers, running costs at public charging spots. By offering long-term savings and combining it with trade-in incentives, the brand is clearly positioning itself as a strong contender in emerging EV markets. For potential buyers, this translates into lower ownership costs and greater peace of mind, especially in regions where charging infrastructure is still evolving. This very move could prove to be the pivotal role in the expansion of VinFast in India.
