Kia EV6 AWD To Be Priced Same As BMW i4 - Rs 70 Lakh Question; Prices Leaked Ahead Of Its Launch

Kia EV6 will get launched on June 2 and the bookings for the same have already commenced from Rs 3 lakh onwards. However, just two days ahead of its official launch in the Indian market, Motorbeam has got hold of the prices. The top of the line AWD GT variant will be priced from Rs 70 lakh while the less powerful RWD trim to be priced from Rs 65 lakh. All prices stick to ex-showroom, Delhi.

Interestingly, the EV6 AWD is priced the same as the premium offering, the BMW i4 that got launched a few days ago. The EV6 gets a 77.4 kWh battery pack that belts out as much as 323 bhp of power on tap with a peak torque of 605 Nm. The company claims that 0-100 kmph is well achieved in just 3.5 seconds. The claimed driving range sticks to 528 km while for the BMW i4 it is 590 km.

Kia also claims that EV6 can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes using a 350kW DC fast charger. The South Korean carmaker will be bringing 100 units initially of the EV6 and thereafter if the response is good, the numbers will rise.

The high pricing of the electric crossover is because it is brought into the Indian market via the CBU route. In other news, Hyundai too will launch the Ioniq 5 but it will be cheaper than EV6 because the company will follow the CKD route. That will bring the prices a little lower.

The deliveries of the Kia EV6 will begin from September 2022 for the AWD variant while the RWD variant will be available from December 2022. The bookings are available on a first-come-first-serve basis and the waiting period for new bookings now stands as high as 10 months.

Feature-wise, the EV6 is equipped with a dual-screen set-up (one for infotainment and the other for instrument cluster), wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, LED headlights with LED daytime running lights, ventilated front seats, connected car tech with over 60 features to control the vehicle and more.

Safety equipment on the EV6 too is at an all-time high as it gets as many as eight airbags, ADAS, all-wheel disc brakes, 360-degree camera, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control and more. Furthermore, the EV6 scored 5 stars at the ANCAP crash test rating.
