Mahindra BE Rall-E Spied Testing

The test mule of the Mahindra BE Rall-e showcases several design cues borrowed from the BE 6 and the earlier Rall-e concept. Despite being wrapped in a white and blue camouflage, key elements stand out, most notably the prominent bonnet scoop, reminiscent of the BE 6. However, distinguishing features include circular headlight housings with projector LED elements, closely matching the Rall-e concept's rugged aesthetic. The front fascia also reveals the presence of front parking sensors, though front fog lamps are absent on the test model, a feature that could likely make its way onto the final production version.

The earlier-revealed BE Rall-e concept stood out with its vibrant neon green or yellow finish and distinct styling elements, including a sleek LED DRL strip paired with large round headlamps integrated into the bumper. While the current BE6 and XUV 9E models are rear-wheel-drive, they are built on the INGLO EV platform, which supports all-wheel-drive configurations with a dual-motor setup, though Mahindra hasn't implemented this on production models yet. However, the Rall-e, positioned as a more off-road-focused version of the BE6, is expected to debut with AWD and dual motors. Enhancements like Hill Descent Control, Mechanical and Brake Locking Differentials (MLD and BLD) are also likely to be part of the package, offering improved off-road capabilities while retaining the same electric architecture as the standard BE6.
Battery And Range

The production-spec Mahindra BE Rall-e is expected to share its powertrain options with the standard BE 6, offering two battery pack choices: 59 kWh and 79 kWh. Both variants are rear-wheel-drive and powered by a single motor, with the smaller pack producing 231 PS and the larger one generating 286 PS, both delivering 380 Nm of torque. MIDC-claimed range figures stand at 535 km for the 59 kWh version and 682 km for the 79 kWh variant. Given its off-road-oriented positioning, the BE Rall-e may also gain a front-axle-mounted motor, enabling an all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup. While this would align with its adventure-focused character, Mahindra has yet to officially confirm AWD availability.

Mahindra BE Rall-e: Expected Pricing And Launch Timeline
While the launch date of the production-spec Mahindra BE Rall-e is yet to be revealed, it might command a slight premium over the currently available Mahindra BE 6, prices of which range between Rs 18.90 lakh and Rs 26.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
Verdict
The Rall-E concept is very much being replicated where the BE 6 is getting some adventure focused add-ons, which will truly unlock the potnetial of the platform. Not just this, this will get an adventure ready product in the EV SUV portfolio of the brand and keep its legacy of off-road freindly vehicles going stronger. It would be intersting to see if there is any bump up in range, owing to its nature of venturing off into the trails.
