Strategic Update With AX5 Variant's Price Drop

The price drop of the Mahindra XUV 3XO follows the brand's recent introduction of three new variants: REVX M, REVX M (O), and REVX A. Among them, the REVX A is positioned smartly between the AX5 and AX5L variants. It offers more features than the AX5, but stops short of overlapping with the higher AX5L. The revised price for the AX5 is likely a strategic move to create clearer segmentation between these closely priced variants. The Mahindra XUV 3XO already comes packed with a host of modern features focused on comfort, convenience, and safety in its top-spec trims.

Highlights include dual 10.25-inch screens, a premium 7-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, dual-zone climate control with rear AC vents, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, and ventilated front seats. In terms of safety, it offers six airbags, a 360-degree camera with blind spot monitor, all-wheel disc brakes, electronic stability control with hill hold and descent control, and 3-point seatbelts with reminders for all passengers. The SUV also includes advanced Level 2 ADAS tech, featuring adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and autonomous emergency braking.
Engine Options

The XUV 3XO continues to cater to a wide range of customers with three engine choices. Buyers can choose between two 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engines: a standard unit delivering 110 bhp and 200 Nm, and a more powerful TGDi version producing 129 bhp and 230 Nm. Both petrol versions offer 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearboxes. Diesel enthusiasts can opt for the 1.5-litre engine pushing out 115 bhp and 300 Nm, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT.
Looking ahead, Mahindra is also preparing to electrify the XUV 3XO, with an EV version expected by the end of 2025. This indicates the brand's commitment to expanding the 3XO lineup across both traditional and future-ready powertrains in a bid to stay relevant in the EV space as well.
Verdict
By adjusting the prices and reworking the variant structure, Mahindra has made the XUV 3XO a more balanced and value-driven proposition. The updated pricing of the AX5 variants not only enhances affordability but also makes space for the new RevX Edition without overlapping. With strong engine options and a future EV version in the pipeline, the 3XO is shaping up to be a smart choice for buyers seeking performance, features, and flexibility, however, the sub 4 meter space is a hot space that keeps getting intense.
