JSW-MG Motor India has launched the bigger battery pack version of the Windsor EV. The new MG Windsor EV PRO variant is launched at an introductory price of Rs 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom), and Rs 12.49 lakh (ex-showroom) with BaaS package. The new PRO variant gets a bigger battery pack, enhanced range, added safety and convenience features, and subtle cosmetic updates. New Variant With Bigger Battery Pack
JSW-MG Motor India has launched a new variant and a bigger battery pack option just under a year after the Windsor's launch. The bigger PRO version comes with a 52.9 kWh battery pack offering a claimed range of 449 km on a single charge. This version delivers 136 PS of power and 200 Nm of peak torque. Moreover, the brand has enabled Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) capabilities with the new variant. The new 52.9 kWh battery pack of the Windsor will be available in the top-spec Essence PRO variant only.
New Colours & Cosmetic Updates
With the PRO version, the brand has launched three new colours named Celadon Blue, Aurora Silver, and Glaze Red. Additionally, the exterior of the PRO variant gets new 18-inch dual-tone machined alloy wheels, and on the inside, it gets a new dual-tone Ivory and Black interior for an enhanced cabin experience.
New Convenience & Safety Features
The new Windsor PRO comes with added convenience and safety features. It comes with level 2 ADAS features, including 12 major features with 3 levels of warnings (audio, visual, and haptic). The ADAS features include Vehicle Safe Stop, Adaptive Cruise Control, Bend Cruise Assistance (Sub-function of ACC), Lane Departure Warning, Lane Departure Prevention, Lane Keep Assist, among other features.
The PRO variant also gets added convenience features such as a powered tailgate, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V). The variant continues to get the Aero lounge seats, 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, infinity glass roof among other features.
Price & Subscription Plan
JSW-MG Motor India has started a unique Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program with the launch of the Windsor last year. This initiative made EV ownership more accessible, and with the launch of the PRO version, this plan continues. Customers can choose to buy the PRO variant with the BaaS price tag of Rs 12.49 lakh (ex-showroom) plus battery subscription cost of Rs 4.5/km. For those who want to purchase the vehicle outright without BaaS, it is priced at Rs 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the first 8,000 customers.

Verdict
The MG Windsor EV has received a strong reception in the Indian market. The previous version recorded good sales over the past few months, and the launch of a bigger battery pack variant within a year is expected to help the brand attract more customers. This larger battery pack version will compete with the Tata Curvv.ev, Hyundai Creta Electric, and the Mahindra BE 6.
