2025 Tata Altroz Facelift Spied Undisguised

In the lead-up to its official launch, the 2025 Tata Altroz facelift has been spotted without any camouflage for the first time, reportedly during the filming of a TV commercial. The refreshed premium hatchback is scheduled for the reveal on May 9, 2025, showcasing both its exterior and interior updates, with the official price announcement and market launch slated for May 22. The updated Altroz boasts a sharper, more sophisticated look, thanks to sleeker LED DRLs now integrated into a redesigned projector headlamp setup. The front bumper sports more angular detailing and gloss black accents, while the rear gets a connected LED tail light strip that enhances its upscale appeal. Notably, the facelifted model will also introduce flush-fitting door handles, a segment-first feature, offering a cleaner and more aerodynamic side profile.

Tata has officially unveiled the interiors of the Altroz facelift, and the changes bring a more refined and modern vibe. The dashboard now looks cleaner and more minimalistic, enhanced by a flatter gloss black trim and sleeker AC vents. A white ambient lighting strip stretches across the dash, adding a premium touch. The center console has been reworked and features a new gear selector for automatic variants, while the climate controls now use a mix of touch and toggle switches, as seen in newer Tata models.

While elements like the manual handbrake, center armrest, and rear AC vents remain unchanged, the real highlights include a new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster. This cluster supports full-screen navigation when paired wirelessly with a smartphone, complementing the new floating touchscreen infotainment system, which also supports a 360-degree camera setup. Not to forget, the Altroz facelift now comes with flush-type door handles, which is a segment-first premium offering.

Powertrain

The updated Tata Altroz is likely to carry forward its existing engine lineup, including a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine with 87bhp and 115Nm of torque, and a 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine producing 88bhp and 200Nm. Transmission choices will consist of a 5-speed manual, with the petrol also offering a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. The Altroz Racer version brings more performance, featuring a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol motor pushing out 118bhp and 170Nm, mated to a 6-speed manual. A CNG variant will also remain on offer, delivering 76 bhp and 97Nm through a 5-speed manual.
The pricing of the updated model might come with a slight premium over the current model to offset the added costs that accompany the feature upgrades. It will continue to rival other popular premium hatchbacks like the Hyundai i20, Maruti Baleno, and others in the segment.
