Nissan Magnite Pros And Cons - Best From Nissan Yet?

Nissan recently revealed the new Magnite and the car is now scheduled to be launched on 2nd December. Once launched, the magnite will be locking its horns with the cars like the Hyundai Venue and the Kia Sonet. With the prices of the vehicle starting from Rs 5.5 lakh (expected), the Nissan Magnite is one of the most anticipated launches this year. Having said this, here is a list of Nissan Magnite pros and cons which will help you understand this product in a better way.

Pros

1. Looks

The Nissan Magnite gets a bold and aggressive design language which is a bit too loud but definitely looks attractive.

2. Value For Money Prices

The Nissan Magnite is expected to be priced aggressively and considering it as an overall package, this car will definitely become one of the most VFM products in the segment.

3. Feature Loaded

A number of segment-first features will be seen in the Nissan Magnite such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, etc. In addition to this, the vehicle also comes with a large touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charger, and a number of other features.

4. Smooth CVT Gearbox

The CVT gearbox is not just smooth and practical for urban usage but also delivers a decent performance which makes it a great car for everyday usage.

5. Sorted Dynamics

The suspension setup is well-tuned to deliver a great combination of ride and handling balance. The suspension absorbs almost all the undulations very well while the ride quality at slow city speeds too remains comfortable. On the other hand, high-speed stability and driving dynamics too are impressive for a car of this size and segment.

6. Spacious Cabin

The Nissan Magnite is one of the most spacious vehicles in the segment. For starters, the Magnite offers segment-leading space at the rear while the space at the front too is impressive. Also, do note that this car offers the widest footwell for the driver when compared to its rivals.

Nissan Magnite Pros And Cons

Cons

1. No Diesel Engine

The Nissan Magnite gets two engine options that include a 1.0-L NA engine and a 1.0-L turbo petro engine. There is no diesel engine on offer. Rivals like the Ecosport, Nexon, XUV300, Sonet, and the Venue do offer a capable and powerful diesel engine to the buyers who need a fuel-efficient vehicle.

2. 3-Cylinder Petrol Engines

While the rivals like the Brezza, Sonet, Venue, and the Urban Cruiser are offered with refined and reliable 4-cylinder petrol engines, the Magnite is offered only with 3-cylinder engines which are not as good when NVH levels are taken into consideration.

3. Missing Features Like Sunroof and Auto-Dimming IRVM

There are a number of features and equipment which are missing from the Magnite. To begin with, there is no sunroof on offer which definitely should have been offered as the Indian customers love a car with a sunroof. Moreover, there is no auto-dimming IRVM, the arm-rest storage space is missing and the auto door unlock when the vehicle is switched off is also missing from the Magnite.

4. Underpowered Non-Turbo 1.0-L Engine

The naturally aspirated 3-cylinder engine delivers low power and torque output which makes takes a considerable toll on the overall performance of the vehicle.

5. Less Powerful Turbo Engine

The power output of the new 1.0-L HR0 turbo petrol engine is definitely much lower than that of the rivals. We would have appreciated better performance from this vehicle.
