- Older-gen Hyundai Venue to remain on sale alongside new model
- Will be limited to just four variants in petrol manual
- Move to offer a wider selection in the segment
In an interesting strategic move, Hyundai is set to retain the previous-generation Hyundai Venue on sale even after the launch of the all-new 2025 version. The decision aims to retain a wider range of buyers by offering a more affordable entry point into the Venue lineup. Originally introduced in 2019 and given a major facelift in 2022, the outgoing Venue continues to enjoy a loyal customer base thanks to its proven reliability and practical size. Old Hyundai Venue Sales To Continue in Petrol-Only Form

According to sources, the older Hyundai Venue will remain available in four variants, Kappa S, Kappa S+, Kappa S(O), and Kappa S(O+), all powered by the familiar 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine producing 83PS and 113.8Nm, paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. Prices are expected to range between Rs. 8.49 lakh and Rs. 9.20 lakh (ex-showroom). By continuing this version, Hyundai ensures that value-driven buyers can still access a well-equipped compact SUV at a competitive price, likely with dealer-level discounts and benefits.

By selling both generations of the Venue simultaneously, Hyundai is clearly targeting two distinct buyer groups. The new-gen Venue appeals to tech-savvy customers looking for modern features and premium appeal, while the older model continues to attract budget-conscious buyers who prioritise reliability and value. This dual strategy mirrors what brands like Maruti Suzuki and Honda have successfully done in the past, allowing Hyundai to strengthen its presence in India's highly competitive compact SUV market.

New Hyundai Venue to Offer More Power and Tech

The upcoming 2025 Hyundai Venue, slated for launch on November 4, 2025, will bring a host of mechanical and feature upgrades. The new model will retain all three powertrains, the 1.2-litre petrol, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol, and 1.5-litre diesel, with multiple gearbox options including manual, automatic, and DCT. Hyundai has reworked the exterior with a bolder grille, new LED lighting signatures, and four new colour options: Mystic Sapphire, Hazel Blue, Dragon Red, and a dual-tone Hazel Blue with Abyss Black roof. Inside, the cabin has been thoroughly modernised with a curved dual 12.3-inch display setup, a refreshed dashboard layout, and a new D-cut steering wheel. Variants will now follow the HX nomenclature, aligning with Hyundai's updated global naming structure.
Verdict
Hyundai's decision to retain the outgoing Venue alongside the 2025 model is a calculated and customer-focused approach. The old Venue offers affordability and familiarity, while the new version adds style, power, and technology, together creating one of the most versatile SUV portfolios in the segment. With strong rivals like the Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, and Mahindra XUV 3XO, Hyundai's twin-Venue strategy could give it a significant edge in maintaining its leadership among urban compact SUVs in India.
