With the country moving towards advanced BS6 emission norms, Renault has also started to improve it's line up and launched the updated Kwid. The BS6 Renault Kwid starts at Rs 2.92 lakh for the base trim and the top model fetches up to Rs 5.01 lakh. All prices stick to ex-showroom, Delhi.
The car gets a price hike of Rs 9,000 across all trims. Renault Kwid comes in both a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox. It gets powered by two engines - a smaller 0.8-litre which generates 54 bhp and 72 Nm of peak torque and the larger 1.0-litre engine which churns 68 bhp along with a maximum torque of 91 Nm. It is the latter which receives the option of a 5-speed AMT gearbox.
When compared with the BS4 model, the power figures remain unchanged in the updated engine. Other than the mechanical changes, all things remain the same. Unlike its competitor Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, the Kwid gets a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. It supports connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Renault Kwid continues with the safety features like a driver-side airbag, high-speed alert system, reverse parking sensors, front seat belt reminder and Antilock Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution comes as standard. The car also gets dual airbags as safety features but that gets reserved for higher trims.
