Tata Nexon Gets New Base Trims In Petrol And Diesel: Now Starts At Rs. 7.99 Lakhs

Facing tough heat from the Tata Punch and the all-new Mahindra 3XO, the Tata Nexon has entered survival mode. Its the tussle for the top spot and the Nexon has been blessed with new base variants in both petrol and diesel. Talking about the petrol variant, Introducing the Smart (O), a new entry-level petrol variant of the Nexon is now available at a reduced starting price of Rs. 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It's uncertain whether this variant replaces or falls below the previous base model, the Smart Petrol 5MT, priced at Rs. 8.15 lakh (ex-showroom).

Additionally, Tata has implemented a significant price cut of Rs. 31,000 for the Smart+ Petrol 5MT variant, reducing its price from Rs. 9.2 lakh to Rs. 8.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Furthermore, the most substantial price adjustment is seen in the Smart+ S Petrol 5MT variant, now priced at Rs. 9.39 lakh (ex-showroom), down by approximately Rs. 41,000 from its previous cost of Rs. 9.8 lakh (ex-showroom).

The company has made a significant update by introducing diesel engines starting from the base Smart trim. Previously, diesel engines were only available from the Pure variant onwards, making the most affordable diesel option the Pure Diesel 6MT priced at Rs. 11.10 lakh (ex-showroom). With this change, the Nexon now offers a diesel engine at a reduced price point, with the new Smart+ Diesel 6MT variant priced at Rs. 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and the Smart+ S Diesel 6MT at Rs. 10.59 lakh (ex-showroom). This makes it a lot cheaper than before by Rs. 1.1 lakhs making it a lot more competitive in the segment.
