Tata Altroz Racer Edition: Set For Launch In June
The forthcoming Tata Altroz Racer Edition introduces a captivating dual-tone color scheme, adding a dynamic touch to its appearance. A sleek black hue extends over the roof, pillars, wing mirrors, rear spoiler, and bonnet, offering a striking contrast against the vibrant body paint. Enhancing its sporty persona, white racing stripes grace the roof and hood, accentuating its athletic design. Completing the overall look are sleek blacked-out alloy wheels, contributing to the Altroz Racer Edition's overall dynamic appeal.
Inside the Altroz Racer Edition, a blend of sportiness defines the ambiance, highlighted by a striking black and red color scheme. Racing stripes adorn the seats, enhanced by red stitching on both the seats and steering wheel. Further accentuating its athletic character are "Racer" badges on the headrests and red ambient lighting throughout the cabin. Feature-wise, expect a generous array of amenities including a large touchscreen infotainment system, a 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, an electric sunroof, and more. Powertrain Options
The Altroz Racer Edition is set to inherit the potent 1.2-liter, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine from the Nexon, delivering 120hp and 170Nm of torque. This marks an increase of 10hp and 30Nm compared to the Altroz iTurbo variant. Expect the Racer to be available exclusively with a 6-speed manual transmission only.
The Altroz Racer is expected to be priced at around Rs. 10 lakh going head-to-head with the likes of the Hyundai i20 N-Line, Maruti Fronx Turbo, and others.
Verdict
The Tata Altroz Racer upon its launch, will make it tough for the Hyundai i20 N-Line with the niche market already being limited to small numbers. However, Altroz as a whole is the last hatchback in the country to be offered with a diesel engine, which is likely to be shelved with the next rounds of emission norms.
