Tata Safari Facelift - New Cabin Design, More Features?

As visible in the new spy shots, the dashboard & the overall cabin looks brand new to the Safari facelift. The steering wheel unit is also brand new with a four-spoke design. The most interesting part is the introduction of touch controls for HVAC as well as on the steering wheel. The dashboard now gets a premium leather treatment with a golden finish. Also, the touchscreen infotainment system is now bigger in size. We expect that it'll get a new interface with more features like the 360-degree parking camera, etc. Interestingly, the AC unit is also touch-operated here. This means that there will be no physical controls inside the new Safari. Additionally, the steering wheel gets a digital screen that replaces the traditional horn pad and Tata emblem. We suspect that the horn operation and other steering controls will be pneumatically operated via touch.

On the outside, the new Safari will get a revised fascia. It shall be inspired by the Curvv concept and hence a new bumper and headlights along a new front grille will find their way on it. The side profile will remain more or less the same but new dual-tone alloy wheels will be offered for sure. Continuing the new design language at the rear, we can expect a new set of LED taillights with a connected LED brake light bar on the boot lid. Meanwhile, the rear bumper will also undergo some minor revisions.

While there are no major details known about the powertrain options, the suspicions indicate the introduction of a new turbo-petrol engine. This can possibly be a 1.5-lt TGDi unit that Tata showcased at the Indian Auto Expo'23. However, the Stellantis-sourced 2.0-lt turbo-diesel shall remain unchanged on the facelift. Similarly, the options of MT, as well as torque converter AT gearbox, will continue to be offered. But, Tata might revise the power and torque delivery on the new facelift to make it more economical as well as tractable. The petrol engine, if offered, will help in competing the rivals like Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector Plus, & Hyundai Alcazar.
