VinFast's India Strategy

The company is entering India with a clear long-term vision. Its Thoothukudi facility in Tamil Nadu is currently under development and will eventually handle local assembly of VinFast models starting 2026. Until then, both the VF6 and VF7 will arrive as Completely Built Units (CBUs), with the transition to CKD kits planned in the next phase.
Backing the product rollout will be an extensive network of over 50 touchpoints nationwide. These centers will provide not just sales support but also servicing and charging assistance an essential step for any new EV brand in India.
Expected Pricing

While VinFast has kept official numbers under wraps, industry buzz suggests:
- VF6 could be priced in the Rs. 20-25 lakh range (on-road)
- VF7 is expected to slot in around Rs.25-30 lakh (on-road)
If VinFast manages to meet these estimates, the SUVs will be positioned aggressively against rivals like Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE.06, Hyundai Creta Electric for the VF6 and Tata Harrier EV, Mahindra XEV 9e for the VF7.
What the SUVs Offer

- VinFast VF6: Compact yet feature-rich, powered by a 59.6 kWh battery and a 204 hp motor on the front axle. WLTP range stands at 480 km, making it one of the longest-range EVs in its class.

- VinFast VF7: A larger, more versatile option with a 70.8 kWh battery. Buyers will get the choice of 2WD (204 hp) or AWD (350 hp, 500 Nm) variants. Depending on configuration, range figures vary between 431-450 km (WLTP).
Both SUVs are built on VinFast's global EV platform and are expected to carry the brand's signature design language, premium interiors, and connected technology suite.
Bookings and Deliveries

VinFast had already opened pre-bookings on July 15, 2025, with a refundable token amount of Rs. 21,000. According to the brand, first deliveries will begin in Q4 2025, just weeks after the official launch.
