The e-Vitara has been developed with a clear focus on both domestic and international markets. Built in India, the SUV will be exported to over 100 countries, including advanced markets like Europe and Japan, underlining India's growing stature in the global EV supply chain.

Speaking at the launch, PM Modi called the event a "big leap in the Make in India, Make for the World journey." He emphasized that the initiative goes beyond just one vehicle - it's about establishing India as a long-term powerhouse in clean mobility.

What Makes the e-Vitara Special

The e-Vitara is positioned as a feature-rich, globally competitive electric SUV. Key highlights include:

  • Battery Options: Offered with two lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs - 49 kWh and 61 kWh.
  • Drivetrain Choices: Available in both front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) setups, making it suitable for different driving environments worldwide.

Alongside the vehicle launch, PM Modi also inaugurated a new battery electrode production facility. In addition, the government is pushing forward the National Critical Mineral Mission, which focuses on identifying and utilizing rare minerals like manganese that are crucial for battery manufacturing. This forward-looking move will ensure long-term sustainability in EV production.

Suzuki's Long-Term Commitment to India

Suzuki Motor Corp has committed an investment of Rs. 70,000 crore over the next 5-6 years in India. This investment will cover EV manufacturing, battery production, and allied green technologies, cementing Indias role as Suzuki's global export base for EVs.
