Volkswagen Virtus Anniversary Edition Launched , Limited To 150 Units

Volkswagen India has launched a new Anniversary Edition of its mid-size sedan, the Virtus. The new Volkswagen Virtus Anniversary Edition is priced at Rs 19.20 lakh (ex-showroom). Based on the top-spec GT Plus Sport variant, this limited-run model will be limited to just 150 units and is offered with a single exterior colour option and a DSG gearbox. The Anniversary Edition has been launched just ahead of the arrival of the new Skoda Slavia, which is expected to serve as the basis for the updated Virtus. Volkswagen Virtus Anniversary Edition - What's New?

The new Anniversary Edition is available in an exclusive Avocado Pearl exterior paint shade with black highlights. The roof and alloy wheels are finished in black, enhancing the sedan's sporty character. Apart from these cosmetic changes, no major exterior updates have been made.

Based on the top-spec GT Plus Sport variant, the Anniversary Edition comes equipped with all the features offered in the standard model. Additionally, customers can opt for official Volkswagen accessories such as a 360-degree camera, a front parking system, and puddle lamps. Apart from these optional additions, features such as a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless phone charging, ventilated electric front seats, an electric sunroof, a fully digital instrument cluster, an auto-dimming IRVM, ambient lighting, and other equipment remain unchanged in the Anniversary Edition.

The new Anniversary Edition continues to be powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 148 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. This engine is paired exclusively with a 7-speed DSG gearbox, which is the sole transmission option available with this edition. The Virtus lineup also includes a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 114 bhp of power and 178 Nm of peak torque. This engine is available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The newly launched Anniversary Edition serves as a filler between the current model and the upcoming facelift. The facelifted Virtus has been spotted testing on multiple occasions, and we believe it will be launched soon after the arrival of the facelifted Skoda Slavia. The Virtus remains one of the most timeless sedans in the Indian market and offers a commendable driving experience, thanks to its strong performance, sharp handling, and well-balanced ride quality. With the facelift, the Virtus is expected to receive additional features, making it an even stronger contender in its segment.
