In fact, Morris Garages entered the Indian market with this Hector mid-size SUV and it became an instant hit. The Hector became instantly popular, all thanks to its unique design language, decent powertrains, feature-loaded cabin, attractive price and after-sales package. Now, within two years of its launch, the comapany is all set to give it an update. The new upcoming 2021 MG Hector Facelift BS6 has been recently spied at an MG dealership and here we have for you all the details about it.
The MG Hector is currently the company's best-selling product in the Indian market. With the facelift update, MG will make the good-looking Hector SUV even better and it will get some new features too. But, it's worth mentioning that the Hector will be getting this update within just two years of its India launch, which is quite a short period of time. As we all know, the MG Hector series is the company's bread and butter product in India and the carmaker wants to keep the sales momentum going by introducing the Hector Facelift. The new upcoming 2021 MG Hector Facelift BS6 has been recently spied undisguised at an MG dealership. So, let's have a look at its images to know what are the changes that it gets.
So, the new MG Hector Facelift doesn't get a host of changes but there are subtle aesthetic upgrades and some new feature add-ons that will surely enhance its appeal. Talking about the changes, so the upcoming MG Hector Facelift gets a new front fascia. The mid-size SUV gets a new design for the grille. The grille of the car is now slimmer than before with subtle chrome inserts. It sports horizontal studded chrome slats in the grille which looks a bit similar to the Hector sold in the South American markets. Also, while the current MG Hector gets 17-inch alloy wheels and they look a bit undersized, thanks to its massive wheel arches. The upcoming facelifted MG Hector gets new 18-inch alloy wheels. The other bits of the exterior of the SUV remains the same as before.
However, on the inside, it gets a significant upgrade. The MG Hector Facelift BS6 gets new dual-tone interiors that have replaced the old all-black cabin. The new dual-tone cabin of the Hector with beige and black treatment looks more upmarket than before and a lot of people will surely like it. It will now most likely get an auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror (IRVM) too. The mechanicals of the car will remain exactly the same as before which means that it will get a BS6-compliant 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine. This motor will churn out 143 PS of power at 5000 RPM and 250 Nm of peak torque between 1600-3600 RPM. The petrol mill will also be available with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. The non-hybrid petrol motor will come paired to a six-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission) and a six-speed manual gearbox while the petrol hybrid motor will be mated to a six-speed manual gearbox only.
The other mill will be a BS6-compliant 2.0-litre diesel engine that will churn out 170 PS of power at 3750 RPM and 350 Nm of peak torque between 1750-2500 RPM. The diesel motor will come mated to a six-speed manual gearbox only. The new 2021 MG Hector Facelift will be launched in India very soon. Currently, the BS6-compliant MG Hector is priced between Rs. 12.83 lakhs - Rs. 18.08 lakhs. All prices stick to Ex-showroom Delhi.
