2022 Citroen C3 Micro-SUV Spied Undisguised; Launch In June - Read Details

2022 Citroen C3 micro-SUV has been spied testing in completely undisguised form. The upcoming hatchback-SUV crossover is anticipated to launch in June.

French car manufacturer Citroen is extensively testing its upcoming 2022 Citroen C3 micro-SUV in India. The car was recently spied testing without any camouflaged and is production-ready.

Citroen is world-famous for making cars with the utmost comfortable ride quality and its C5 Aircorss in India did woe the potential buyers with this. But, due to incorrect pricing & strong rivals in the segment; the C5 seems not to be doing much. To tackle the financial stress, the Citroen C3 hatchback-SUV crossover will be launched in June. As per the reports published over the internet, Citroen is already testing the production-ready car which is about to debut next month.

The recently spied test mule was seen in a dual-tone colour tone which clarifies that Citroen C3 will be available in such colour options. The grey colour shade was matched with a contrasting orange roof and ORVMs. Although, we can not confirm whether this is a top-end variant or not. The overall design matches the outlook language of other Citroen cars globally. There are design cues that match the C5 SUV. The twin-pod split-headlights are a signature from Citroen. The front grille embeds the iconic Citroen badge. At the rear, LED taillights resemble the bigger siblings from the international lineup.

The overall design looks competent as it will rival the newborn segment of micro-SUVs. These include the likes of Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, & Maruti Ignis. Citroen is rumored to provide C3 with options of a 1.2-lt, naturally aspirated, 3-cylinder petrol engine which produce peak power north of 80 hp. The second option might include the same engine with a turbo-unit which might make the power around 108/128 hp in a different state of tunes made to be available via various variants. Gearbox choices will include a 5-speed manual and a torque converter automatic as well.

Citroen is using the CMP platform which is a heavily localized production base. This platform is reported to be more than 90 percent localized & it'll help bring the cost down for the upcoming C3. Citroen will also equip the C3 well with the techs & specs like - LED headlights, LED taillights, 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto support, Apple CarPlay support, 315 liters of boot space, etc.

Due to heavy localization, the price range will be competitive with the rivals as Citroen might launch the C3 between Rs 5.5 - 8 Lakhs. The aggressive pricing of C3 can become a game-changer for the Citroen in India.
