The top-selling car of India has been introduced in an updated form by the Japanese carmaker. The 2022 Maruti WagonR Tour H3 has also been launched along with the more luxury-oriented variants of WagonR.
This commercial-only variant has been designed to target the taxi-specific market. As WagonR has been a seldom favorite among the taxi fleet operators, Maruti has launched this special 'Tour H3' variant for the commercial owners.
WagonR Tour H3 Engine & Specifications
As the Tour H3 version is only focused on the commercial fleet operators, the taxi market needs more efficient and reliable engines while the focus on performance is leas among the commercial buyers.
Keeping in mind the desired changes that the commercial operators might want, Maruti has offered the extremely reliable 1.0-Lt, 3-cylinder, petrol engine in the Tour H3 commercial variants. This engine produces a peak power of 67 Bhp @5500 RPM (1 bhp down by the outgoing model) and a peak torque of 90 Nm @3500 RPM. This power is divulged to front wheels via the use of a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The bi-fuel CNG versions make 65hp in petrol mode (down by 3hp) and 57hp in CNG mode (down by 2hp). The CNG Tour H3 also uses a 5-speed manual gearbox.
As the main idea was to save the costs included, there is no automatic transmission. Along with the petrol variant, Tour H3 is also available with a company-fitted bi-fuel CNG option. The claimed efficiency of the petrol version stands at 25.40 Kmpl while the CNG Tour H3 has a claimed efficiency of 34.73 km per kg (CNG Mode).
The efficiency of petrol Tour H3 is 1 Kmpl more than the LXi variant because of the reduced weight as it lacks many features which LXi offers as standard.
Tour H3 Features
For obvious reasons, the Tour H3 commercial variant has the bare minimum features. The main aim is to satisfy the need for space, reliability, and efficiency of commercial buyers; features are no good to the commercial fleet operators.
In terms of the bare-bone feature list, the WagonR Tour H3 offers ABS and driver airbags as standard in terms of safety. Power steering and AC/heater unit can be included as the comfort features while the rest of the car has nothing but bare-bone plastics.
There is no stereo, no center-locking, no foglamps, etc. This weight reduction has helped the Maruti Tour H3 to achieve an increased fuel economy of 1 kmpl more than the LXi standard base trim.

2022 Maruti Tour H3 Price
Maruti Suzuki has priced the Tour H3 commercial variant between Rs 5.40 Lakhs (for the petrol variant) and Rs 6.35 Lakhs (for the CNG variant). These prices are ex-showroom and the fleet operators will have to bear the RTO taxes along the insurance charges to own the Tour H3.
