Remember the mighty Renault Duster? Ae, the frugal 1.5L diesel tuned to two power figures, the most affordable family AWD SUV and whose sales charts were skyrocketing until the Hyundai Creta arrived. Yes, that's where things started getting south and with the stringent BS6 emission norms and with only the petrol engine as an option, the sales took a hit. Recently, the 2022 Duster facelift was revealed and we wonder if it will be hitting India anytime soon.
Do note that the global market sells the Duster under Dacia. Dacia is a sister company of Renault that brings the same product. This is the second generation of Duster with its 2022 facelift but India still gets the first generation.
In this facelifted avatar, the front gets an updated Y-shaped headlight design, redesigned chrome inserts on the grille and the LED indicators. Rest, the skid plate, grille design and bumper on the facelifted version are identical to the pre-lift version.

Moving to the side and rear profile then they're more or less the same, however, you do now get multiple alloy wheels design and size option. The big change is in the cabin as the 2022 Duster facelift now gets an updated 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
You also get voice recognition, dual USB ports, Bluetooth and much more. The cabin layout too has been updated and you do get 1.1 litres storage cubby that improves the practicality. The higher variants get automatic climate control, cruise control, multi-function steering wheel and even heated seats.
While as much happy we are to see the facelifted Duster, we got to say that we are not expecting it to be launched anytime soon in Indian markets. The carmaker sells the first-gen only in two petrol engines. Renault is focused on bringing justice to CMF platform cars like Kwid, Triber and Kiger. They bring in more sales to the carmaker.
