The teaser reveals a redesigned model featuring a fresh front bumper, honeycombed grill, and updated headlights and taillights. It also showcases a connected rear light, a sleek shark fin antenna, and a sloping roofline. At the back, there's a revamped bumper and a new set of alloy wheels, maintaining a similar profile. Despite these updates, the upcoming car retains its familiar sheet metal, promising a fair share of exterior resemblance with its counterpart.

Inside, the vehicle boasts an array of features comparable to the Fronx model, including a spacious infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It will also get automatic climate control, a head-up display, cruise control, ambient lighting, a 360-degree camera, a Keyless Entry System, All 3-Point ELR Seat Belts, an Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Hold Assist, Electrically Adjustable ORVMs, and ADAS features for enhanced safety.

A Look Ahead: 2024 Toyota Taisor Engine, Competitors, And Expected Price

Underneath the hood, the Toyota Taisor is anticipated to mirror the mechanical options of the Maruti Fronx. Currently, the Fronx offers a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology, along with a choice of a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Alternatively, there's a 1.2-liter Dualjet petrol engine paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. The CNG variants utilize the 1.2-litre engine with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

There's speculation that the Taisor might stick to only the 1.2-litre engine options. Expected to compete against models like the Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite, and Hyundai Venue. It will likely carry a slightly higher price tag compared to the Maruti Fronx, which begins at Rs. 7.51 lakhs ex-showroom.

Toyota recently announced a price increase on certain models, although they haven't disclosed which ones yet. They confirmed a 1 percent hike, effective from April 1st, 2024. The company attributed the price increase to higher input costs and operational expenses, explaining the need for adjustments in response to these rising financial pressures.
