Citroen Basalt X
The spied image doesn't say anthing much, except the fact that X - badge is visible, and its paint is hidden by protective covers. However, whatever new will be on offer - its easy to predict. As, the features Basalt doesn't have, will come with X, such as cruise control, 360-parking camera, and push start button. Even Citroen India on its all social media accounts have given us a glimpse of it, where they have put out an image where its dual tone interior theme is visible (brown and black).

Also worth noting, it seems Citroen will use copper chrome elements in the interior to elevate the overall ambience, as hinted in the teaser shots. Moreover, this car will be offered with the same two petrol engine options: a 1.2L 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 82 PS and 115 Nm of torque, paired exclusively with a 5-speed manual gearbox; and a performance-oriented 1.2L turbocharged engine delivering 110 PS and 190 Nm of torque with a 6-speed manual, or 205 Nm with a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

To add more, we at 91Wheels have driven the Basalt extensively, where we found out that this is one of the best driver-oriented cars out there. The suspension is apex and has been tuned perfectly in keeping with our Indian road conditions. Also, the turbo petrol engine is again a driver's delight and, with a light foot, achieves a fuel efficiency of 17 to 18 kmpl. Lastly, this car has scored 4 stars in Bharat NCAP, so there's no question about its build quality

Verdict
Basalt X is coming with features that appeal to Indian buyers. The Basalt is a fantastic car, but it hasn't been able to make a name for itself, and the core reason is that there's nothing aspirational about the brand. People don't view it as something they want to own, and that's what's hurting its growth. Well, let's see whether the X factor will cast a spell or lose out again like Citroen's Dark Edition models.
