EXCLUSIVE: 2024 Maruti Swift ZXI Variant Spied Testing

Maruti Suzuki is currently on the verge of launching its new Swift. The 2024 Maruti Swift ZXI variant has been spotted by us recently testing on the highway. The new model will get a new chassis, a bigger cabin, and a new engine. Read all of the details known about the upcoming Swift below.

2024 Maruti Swift: Design and Features

While it is not the first time that the upcoming Swift has been spied on, the ZXI variant spotted by us has some interesting details to note down. For example, the test car was full of loads with passengers sitting inside it. Moreover, the spied test mule was easily doing 100-120 kmph on the highway.

The completely covered test mule had a brand new set of taillights and a new rear bumper hidden underneath it. The front design also gets a new set of headlights, a new grille, and a redesigned bumper. The important thing to note is that this specific trim will get halogen headlights. Unlike the top-spec version where we've seen a projector LED headlight setup, the ZXI variant will likely get less features.

Also, the rear doors will get regular door handles, unlike the current model with pillar-mounted handles. The spied-on test car also had black alloy wheels, a rear wash and wiper, and a rear defogger as well. The cabin is also going to be revised with a new dashboard, a bigger floating infotainment screen, a new instrument console, and new HVAC controls.

Engine and Transmission Options

Globally, Suzuki has already showcased the 2024 Swift. It'll be more or less the same when launched in the Indian market. The upcoming model is likely to get a new 1.2-liter, naturally-aspirated, 4-cylinder, petrol engine. This engine will generate a peak power of 90 PS and a peak torque of 113 Nm. In India, the new Swift will get a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT automated transmission options. Also, the CNG versions are likely to be sold as well.

Launch Time, Price, and Rivals

With the new Swift, Maruti is expected to launch its sedan counterpart i.e. the Swift Dzire. Both models are likely to be launched around June 2024. The pricing of Swift will definitely be more than the current model due to the new engine and enhanced features. The expected pricing of the new model will be Rs 6.50 lakh - Rs 10 lakh (estimated). Its primary rivals will include the Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS and Tata Tiago.
