The Hyundai Creta EV is all set to make its debut on January 17 at the Bharat Mobility Show and it is one of the most awaited launches of 2025. Backed up by a household trusted name, the Creta, this new EV will carry the styling cues from the facelift Creta launched this year, but with a few EV-specific tweaks like a closed-off grille, tweaked bumper design, and aero-cut alloy wheels along with special tires to reduce air drag, ultimately aiding in the real world range. It is expected that the Creta EV will be offered in 2 battery pack options; a 45 kWh option targeting a range of up to 300 km, and a larger 55-60 kWh pack aiming for approximately 500 km of range. Powering the Creta EV will likely be the same electric motor found in the base Kona Electric, producing 138 hp and 255 Nm of torque. It will rival the likes of the Tata Curvv EVMahindra BE 6, and the upcoming Maruti e Vitara.

Hyundai Venue Facelift

Hyundai Venue facelift is yet another player on the list that has been spied on, donning the new design language, resembling somewhat the facelift Creta with a split headlamp set-up and a prominent front grill. Previous spy photos also hinted at the inclusion of an ADAS suite. Other anticipated features are likely to include a panoramic sunroof, upgraded infotainment, digital driver displays with larger screens, and the use of higher-quality materials and upholstery throughout the cabin. With competitors continually raising the bar, the interior and overall feature list is expected to represent a significant step up in terms of premiumness. Under the hood, the new Venue is likely to maintain the current engine lineup, comprising the 1.2-litre petrol, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol, and 1.5-litre diesel options.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 Facelift

Hyundai Cars

Taking charge of the premium EV amongst the Hyundai cars in the country, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is now ready to enter its facelift version, almost 3 years after its Indian debut. The Ioniq 5 was known for its class-leading feature list a pretty futuristic cabin and the overall exterior styling that demanded attention while on the roads. The internationally unveiled Ioniq 5 facelift showcases a more dynamic aesthetic, drawing inspiration from the preceding N model, while the cabin boasts enhanced ergonomics with the introduction of a redesigned steering wheel. Although a larger 84kWh battery offering a WLTP-certified range of 515km is available in certain markets, its availability in India remains uncertain.

Verdict

New year 2025 will bring in a lot of new cars, and if you are reading the trends, expect more and more EVs as manufacturers keep on toiling ways to capitalise on the potential that electic mobility holds in a country like India, considering the population size. However, the market is still more receptive for the ICE models over EVs, something that will likely be carried forward into the new year as well.
