Hyundai i20 is one of the few cars that will come with the N Line versions and we wonder if we will ever get this hot hatch in India! This power-packed hatchback makes as much as 204 bhp on tap and is expected to hit global markets by end of this year. 204 bhp, by the way, is 50% more than what the turbo petrol Creta makes!

While the world gets ready for the Hyundai i20 N Line, here in India we are expecting its normal version that is expected to come in 1.2L petrol, 1.5L diesel and a 1.0L turbo petrol unit. Sharing more insights of the i20 N Line now, it gets a 1.6L turbocharged petrol engine making 204 bhp. This is the same as the Elantra N like which was teased in a video just a few days ago.
This engine will get a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission with manual and sports mode. One can also expect a 6-speed manual transmission as it gives more fun and the fact that the torque figures on this i20 N come at 260 Nm only. With that much power under the hood, it is unlikely that this powerful hot hatch will show its face in our shores.
Coming to the styling then it will differentiate itself from the regular i20 in a lot more ways. It will get a redesigned front fascia which includes improved front bumper design, agile grille and working air vents which will help in cooling down the engine faster. The rear profile will see a factory fitted spoiler and a tweaked rear bumper.
To make the driving more pleasurable and fun, the carmaker will ring in new suspensions which will increase the driving dynamics. The side profile will see bigger alloy wheels and will get a new set of brakes to improve the braking experience.
Other bits on the styling include dual exhaust, a factory fitted spoiler and N badging on the exterior profile. On the interiors, it will come with an all-black theme with contrast stitching of expected colour red, N line badging on the steering wheels, dashboard and seat design. One can also expect sports seats and pedals with this hot hatchback.

In other news, the all-new Hyundai i20 is expected to mark its launch post- July. It will come with loaded features and latest technologies to compete with its rivals. The 1.5L diesel engine is borrowed from the Creta but will be de-tuned to deliver greater fuel efficiency. And the 1.0L turbo petrol is from the Venue. We expect it will retain its 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol motor which makes 83 bhp with 114 Nm of peak torque.
The prices for the same are expected to see an increase and it will rival with Toyota Glanza, Tata Altroz, Honda Jazz, Maruti Baleno and Volkswagen Polo. The i20 will have an advantage as it is one of the popular selling cars after the Baleno and will also get a diesel engine.
