Hyundai Ioniq 5 Facelift Spied: Draped But Obvious Updates

While international markets have already welcomed its siblings, the Ioniq 6 and Ioniq 9, built on the same versatile platform, the focus for now shifts to the refreshed Hyundai Ioniq 5, poised for our shores based on the popular E-GMP platform, and the same has now been papped at a charging station, albeit under heavy camo. From what's discernible beneath the extensive wraps, the Ioniq 5 facelift is expected to retain its signature premium crossover stance.

The front fascia appears to keep the sleek, rectangular LED headlamp clusters connected by a narrow panel, though a redesigned bumper is almost certainly on the cards to give it a fresh face. While a larger 84 kWh battery is available internationally, it's widely expected that the India-spec model will retain its familiar 72.6 kWh unit for the foreseeable future.

Naturally, with these enhancements, we can likely expect a premium over the current model's Rs 46.05 lakh price tag. While the launch will likely take place aroudn this year's festive season, it will continue to rival other premium EVs in the segment like the Kia EV6, BMW iX1, and others.
