Hyundai Ioniq 5 Launch In India Confirmed - Check All Details!

Hyundai is all set to expand its electric portfolio in the Indian market with the launch of the Ioniq 5. With an expected starting price of over INR 35-40 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Hyundai Ioniq 5 will sit above the Kona electric in the brand's line-up. However, having said this, the launch date of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 was recently confirmed and here are all the details that you should check out.

For starters, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is expected to be launched in the country in late October this year following the launch of the Kia EV6 in India. The Ioniq 5 is expected to be manufactured locally and will be rolled out from the brand's Chennai plant. The upcoming Kia EV6 on the other hand will be placed over the Hyundai Ioniq 5.

Having said this, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is expected to be offered with a single-motor, rear-wheel-drive iteration of the car that makes 168 bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque. The 125kW motor will draw its power from the 58 kWh battery pack and will boast a claimed range of around 384 km on a single charge. The more powerful 72.6 kWh battery variant may also be offered with the Ioniq 5 on the higher variants. More details however are yet to be confirmed by the Korean carmaker.

Having said this, Hyundai is also planning to introduce six new electric cars in the Indian market by 2028. The brand is also working on the modular electric architecture to underpin multiple EVs in various sizes and body styles. Apart from this, the brand will also introduce a number of other cars this year including the Hyundai Venue facelift.
