South Korean auto giant, Hyundai Motors has been reportedly planning to enter into F1 Racing with its team in 2026. While there is no F1 team on sale right now, the automaker is expected to buy a team to foray into Formula 1 Racing. In the past also, Hyundai has had a great record in the motorsports industry. The brand has won the manufacturer's crown two times in the World Rally Championship. Apart from this, there are possibilities that Formula 1 will expand its footprint to the automaker's home state, South Korea.

Hyundai Expected to Foray into F1?

Some reports mention that Hyundai is planning to buy an F1 team to make its entry into Formula 1 racing smooth. Andretti has been eyeing to join the sports. However, due to some issues, they were unable to make it. But now there are expectations that the team will join the F1 racing in 2026 when they get the GM-powered. In this case, if Hyundai buys an existing Formula 1 team, the brand might need to utilize the engine derived from another manufacturer.

Some reports also mention that in case if new regulations are implemented which will emphasise more on Hybrid powetrain, Hyundai will surely use its own technology to power the F1 cars.

Audi, Honda and Ford F1 Plans

After the implemention of the new rules emphasizing hybridisation, Audi has also shown its interest in foraying into the F1 racing. Other automakers like Honda and Ford will also become a part of the sports after the arrival of new rules. Hyundai remains the brand with the strongest intentions to join the sports which is visible in its efforts. The automaker is aready involved into tournaments like Touring Car Racing (TCR) and World Rally Championship (WRC). Apart from this, the brand also launched the first one-make electric car race, eN1 Cup.
