Kia Carens Clavis Unveiled; Details

On the outside, there is not much that has changed, except that the front-end of the Carens Clavis takes inspiration from the EV6, featuring more angular-shaped headlights and a sleeker DRL treatment. The grille continues to be lower down at the bumper, leaving the nose as blank panel.

The side profile remains familiar, but there are new 16 and 17-inch alloy rims, along with new 15-inch wheel covers. The rear also remains familiar, but with the exception of a redesigned bumper and a mildly redesigned tail lamp.

The interiors have been hugely revamped, and it now takes inspiration from the Syros. The Carens Clavis comes with a new two-spoke steering wheel, a 26.62-inch blended screen setup for the infotainment system and the instrument cluster. The cluster itself receives a new digital twin-dial treatment from the Seltos, and the centre console also heavily mimics what we have seen on the Syros. Additionally, it also gets the option of black, as well as dual-tone beige and black upholstery.

In terms of features, the biggest addition is the Level 2 ADAS suite with 20 features, such as active cruise control, lane keep assist, forward collision warning and assist, and many more. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats with 4-step power adjustability for the driver, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, voice commands, 6 airbags across all variants, and remote function among other things.

The three powertrain options have been carried over from before. First is the 1.5-litre nat-asp petrol with 113bhp and 144Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed manual transmission, followed by the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol with 158bhp and 244Nm of torque, paired to either a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT, or a 7-speed DCT. Lastly, the 1.5-litre diesel with 114bhp and 250Nm of torque.
