Kia India expands its Carens lineup with the introduction of the new Kia Carens X-Line variant, offering two additional options for customers. Positioned as the flagship model, prices for the Carens X-Line start at Rs 18.95 lakh and go up to Rs 19.44 lakh, making it slightly pricier than the equivalent Luxury Plus variant by around Rs 54,000. This addition offers more choices for prospective Caren's buyers.

The Carens X-Line variant introduces a stylish Matte Graphite exterior color option and several eye-catching exterior elements. These enhancements include a glossy black finish on the radiator grille, front and rear bumpers, ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors), skid plate, and side door garnish. Completing the exterior makeover are the dual-tone 16-inch crystal-cut alloy wheels, adding to the vehicle's overall appeal.

Kia Carens X-Line offers flexibility in powertrain choices, allowing customers to opt for either the petrol or diesel engine. The petrol variant comes with a seven-speed DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission), while the diesel variant is equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission. It's worth noting that the Carens X-Line is exclusively offered in the six-seater configuration, catering to those who desire extra space and comfort.

Interior

Carens X-Line gets an exclusive and visually striking interior with its "Xclusive Two-Tone Black and Splendid Sage Green" theme. The seats, armrests, steering wheel, and gear lever cover feature contrasting orange stitching, adding a touch of elegance to the cabin.

Furthermore, the X-Line variant comes with a unique rear seat entertainment package that sets it apart from other variants. This package provides access to a range of entertainment and news apps, including podcasts and screen mirroring. An interesting feature allows you to operate the rear screens using a smartphone app, enhancing the in-cabin entertainment experience for passengers.

Engine Options

The Kia Carens X-Line offers two engine options: a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol and a 1.5-liter diesel engine. The turbo-petrol engine is equipped with a seven-speed DCT gearbox, generating 158bhp and 253Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the diesel engine produces 113bhp and 250Nm of peak torque and is coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission.

The Kia Carens X-Line offers two appealing options, with the petrol DCT model priced at Rs 18.94 lakh and the diesel AT variant at Rs 19.44 lakh.

Verdict

The new X-Line variant after the Kia Seltos has now made its debut on the Carens as well. While it sits at the top end of the spectrum, it demands a premium of Rs,54,000 over the Luxury Plus trim.
