Kia Sonet GTX+ Diesel AT and Petrol DCT Launched - Priced At Rs 12.89 Lakh
Kia Motors India launched only the mid-spec AT variants of the Sonet on the launch day. We call it a smart move of the brand to keep the interest of buyers intact by keeping the prices of top variants behind the curtains. As the launch has happened and the response has been positive, Kia has launched the Sonet GTX+ diesel AT and petrol DCT and both the variants are priced at Rs 12.89 lakh ex-showroom.

A few days ago, we told you the expected price for the GTX+ Diesel AT - 12.89 lakh and petrol DCT -12.99 lakh ex-showroom. The price of the GTX+ Diesel AT are the same we assumed but Kia has played safe and launched the Sonet Petrol DCT and Diesel AT at the same price. The Kia Sonet range starts from Rs 6.71 lakh and ends up at Rs 12.89 lakh. The gap between both price ends is a lot but also respective given the sheer amount of features the Sonet offers.

Moreover, now the Kia Sonet AT and DCT are available in two trim levels - HTK+ and GTX+. The HTK+ diesel AT is priced at Rs 10.39 lakh and the HTK+ Petrol DCT is priced at Rs 10.49 lakh ex-showroom. The HTK+ variants are fairly loaded but lack the drool-worthy features like keyless entry and go, alloy wheels, electric sunroof, ventilated seats and more. The top-spec GTX+ automatic trims of the Sonet are the most expensive in the entire sub-compact SUV segment. In addition to that, the Sonet GTX+ iMT is more expensive than the Ford EcoSport 1.5 AT.

To justify the steep price tag, Kia Sonet has the biggest 10.25-inch touchscreen, sound mood lighting, drive and traction modes, ventilated seats, electric sunroof, rain-sensing wipers and a lot more. Some features are missing on the even higher segment of cars. If you are looking for price to size ratio, the Sonet isn't the car for you. You can get the Renault Duster turbo petrol and still save some money for feature upgrades. But if you want the best technology available in the market in one package, the Sonet is a no brainer.
