Maruti Jimny Price To Start At Rs 11.83 Lakh? Exclusive Details Here

With weeks to go for the launch of the Maruti Jimny 5-door, a leaked document now hints at what could be the pricing structure for this 4x4 SUV. This is one aspect that has been the topic of discussion for months now - will Maruti be able to price the Jimny aggressively? More so after the launch of the cheaper 4x2 Thar - this by the way got a price hike recently.

The Leaked Document

A demo unit has been doing the rounds of Nexa showrooms and the chassis / engine number stamp matches to that of the number we see in the document below.

This document is issued by Maruti Suzuki, to the dealer and has the pricing break-up as well. The document clearly says AT Hi-LED which means this is the top end Alpha Automatic version. As seen :
Basic Price : Rs 9,41,866
GST : 28%
Cess : 17%
Total Price : 13,65,705 - this is the price that the dealer has to pay.

Taking dealer margin as 5%, the ex-showroom cost could be Rs 14.33 lakh for the Alpha AT (top end) model.

Other Models

So with the pricing for top model in place, we can now try concluding the ex-showroom prices for other variants.

Alpha MT : this is the older 1.5 petrol unit that will come with a 4 speed automatic. The same unit is the one we see in the Ciaz. For this sedan, the price difference between MT and AT is Rs 1.2 lakh. However in the case of the Jimny, there will be more components involved as the gearbox will be mated to a 4x4 unit, not 4x2 or FWD. This means the Alpha MT might be around Rs 1.5 lakh cheaper - an ex-showroom price of Rs 12.83 lakh.

Zeta MT / Zeta AT : The Zeta model has less features as compared to Alpha. Missing features include alloy wheels, auto headlamps, headlamp washer, LED lights, fog lamps, push button start, cruise control, automatic climate control, a larger 22.86cm touchscreen, surround sound by Arkamys etc. All these features can be assumed to have a collective costing of Rs 1 lakh. This gives us a rough ex-showroom price for Zeta MT and Zeta AT as Rs 11.83 lakh and Rs 13.33 lakh respectively.
