Nissan Confirms Magnite Is E20 Ready

Nissan Motor India has announced that all versions of its Magnite SUV are compatible with E20 fuel, that is, petrol blended with 20% ethanol. Meanwhile, this development covers both engine options offered with the SUV: the 1.0-litre NA petrol and the 1.0-litre turbo petrol unit. One of the biggest concerns of car buyers when switching to these fuels is the impact on the engine and warranty. Well, Nissan has addressed this head-on issue by making it clear that using E20 fuel will not void the warranty on Magnite models inclduing those already sold and still under coverage. However, this assurance boost customer's confindence in the brand.
Why This Matters?

India was gradually moving from E10 to E20 fuel blend, though the target was ahead for 2030, it was achieved earlier by making E20 fuel compulsory. However, Most Indian consumers aren't fully prepared for this shift, since ethanol-blended fuel can affect engine components if the vehicle isn't designed for it. Automakers had to slightly tweak engines and fuel systems to handle E20, and many manufacturers have already updated their new models from 2023 onwards. But the bigger concern lies with vehicles produced before this upgrade, as not all of them are E20-ready. This is where Nissan's announcement becomes important; the brand removed uncertainty for both existing consumers and new buyers.
