Nissan Magnite CNG Launched At Rs 6.89 Lakh - But There's A Catch!

Nissan Motor India has launched a new CNG version of the Magnite. The Nissan Magnite CNG has been launched at Rs 6.89 lakh (ex-showroom) and will be available with the 1.0 litre NA petrol engine option. Nissan Magnite CNG
The newly launched Magnite CNG version will be retrofitted with a government-authorized CNG kit developed by Motozen. This CNG kit is developed and manufactured by Motozen, and the fitment will take place at government-authorised fitment centres. The customers can get the CNG kit fitted at an additional price of Rs 74,999.
In the initial phase, the brand has launched this CNG retrofitment in seven states: Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, and Karnataka. It will later be expanded to other states across the country as part of Phase 2. These kits will be available with the 1.0-litre NA petrol engine option only, and the brand claims that it will offer enhanced fuel efficiency.
The Magnite comes with a 1.0-litre NA petrol engine producing 72 PS of power and 96 Nm of peak torque. We can expect some changes in the power and torque figures with the CNG. This engine comes mated to a 5-speed MT and an AMT unit.

With a view to meeting the requirements of customers, Nissan Dealers will provide an alternate fuel option in the form of a government-approved CNG retrofitment kit, which will be carried out at the authorised fitment centres for customers. We are confident that this move will enhance the popular compact SUVs value proposition and practicality."
Verdict
Car manufacturers in India are now moving towards CNG options by offering retrofitment directly through dealerships. Recently, brands like Renault, Citroen, Honda, and now Nissan have announced CNG retrofitment with OEM warranty and fitment. This offers greater peace of mind to customers.
