Renault Duster 1.3-L Turbo Launched In India - Most Affordable 150+ bhp Car In India!

The new Renault Duster is now available with a 1.3-L turbo GDI engine and the starting price of the Duster 1.3-L Turbo is Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The power output from this engine stands at 156 PS which makes the new Duster most affordable 150 bhp car in the country right now and is also the most powerful car in the segment.

The new Duster gets two engine options - 1.3-L turbo petrol and a 1.5-L NA petrol engine. The max power output from this engine stands at 156 PS while the peak torque figures stand at 254 Nm. This engine comes mated to a 6-Speed MT and a CVT gearbox with 7-step manual mode. The 1.3-L turbo features gasoline direct injection (GDI) which aids in extracting high performance and fuel efficiency. In addition, this new 1.3-L also gets dual variable valve timing (VVT). The maximum fuel economy from this engine stands at 16.5 kmpl for the manual version and 16.43 kmpl for the CVT version. The other, 1498 cc engine churns out 106 PS and 142 Nm peak torque output. This engine is only available with a 5-Speed MT gearbox.

Apart from that, the Duster gets a number of safety features such as ABS, EBD, dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, seat belt reminder, and speed alert. It is worth noting the fact that all these features are standards across all versions of the Duster. The Duster also gets features such as reverse parking camera, ESP, and hill-start assist. There are three variants on offer - RXE, RXS, and RXZ. Prices of all these variants are given in the table below:

The Nissan Kicks also features the same 1.3-L turbo engine which churns out similar power output. However, the base, XV 1.3 Turbo petrol manual is priced from Rs 11.84 lakh while the range-topping XV 1.3 Premium (O) Dul Tone Turbo petrol manual variant is priced from Rs 13.89 lakh (ex-showroom). The starting price of the 1.3-L CVT manual mode is Rs 13.44 lakh (ex-showroom) which makes the Duster significantly cheaper than the Kicks.
